It took me sometime to figure it out

It took me sometime
To figure it out
What the life experience was all about
I thought it a ride
I couldn't get off
I’d better hold on or I’ll fall off
So that’s what I did
With my eyes shut tight
Letting it take me were ever it might
Not knowing I had the ability to stir
I kept my eyes shut and I lived in fear
Always dreading the next twist or turn
Living my life without any discern
Something inside said just opens you eyes
And what I saw was quite a surprise
This aimless ride I thought I was on, was actually the journey of life
With purpose and meaning the choices were there
And when I open my eyes
It all became clear.
